A New Chapter Begins: The Panama Folklore Seattle Blog

Bienvenidos: Welcome to the Panama Folklore Seattle Blog

La cultura vive en cada historia que compartimos.

This month, Panama Folklore Seattle celebrates 10 incredible years of cultural preservation, community, and joy. To mark this milestone, we’re opening a new chapter—one that lives online, breathes through our stories, and reaches everyone who carries Panama in their heart, no matter where they are.

This blog is our digital tamborito. A rhythm that echoes across generations.

Panama Folklore Seattle was born from a desire to keep our culture alive in the Pacific Northwest. We’ve danced in the rain, crafted our own tembleques by hand, and held space for community when we’ve been far from home. And now, we’re creating a space to write it all down.

What you’ll find here:

  • Raíces y Tradición: Folklore, dances, garments, and oral history

  • Eventos y Talleres: Announcements and behind-the-scenes moments from community events

  • Destacados: Spotlights on our dancers, elders, youth, and collaborators

  • Recapitulaciones: Reflections and photos after each performance or gathering

  • Archivo Cultural: Recipes, songs, stories, and images that keep our heritage alive

We’ve long shared our culture through dance, performance, and connection—especially on platforms like Facebook and Instagram. This blog is our next step: a lasting archive where our community can read, revisit, and reflect any time, from anywhere.

We want this space to be more than a blog—it’s an archive, a classroom, a gallery, a celebration.

Thank you for walking this 10-year path with us.
Gracias por seguir bailando con nosotros.

¡Feliz aniversario!
